Virgin Australia Makeup Look

(The products mentioned in this post are my personal opinions and what I use, you should not feel obliged to use the same products!)

---
The Virgin Australia  uniform standards guide suggests using the cosmetic brand Model Co and the company use a cherry red/ bright red lipstick.

---

To begin with, apply a moisturiser or primer to your face, this will help your makeup to stay on for longer and it will stop your foundation or BB cream sinking into your pores. I recommend using the GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer in Clear which you can purchase from Superdrug. This primer is really good at creating a smooth and pore filled base before applying my foundation.

Then add your foundation or BB cream to your face using your favourite foundation brush. Using a BB cream will add colour to your face but has a light to medium coverage and is really hydrating! However if you like to use a foundation for coverage, make sure you have fully hydrated your skin before and during a flight as the air can dry out your skin easily. I recommend the Gosh BB Cream as it is great for little touch ups or to add warmth to the face.

After applying your foundation or BB cream you should apply a concealer to areas that may have blemishes or, underneath the eyes to conceal dark circles; this will give you a 'wide awake' look. I recommend using either the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as this has amazing coverage for those under eye bags or the GOSH CCC Stick ;this is also a great product as it  can be used for multiple items. (i.e, the range has highlighters, concealers and contour sticks).

To set the foundation/BB cream and concealer in place you now need to apply a powder, you can by any powder you want as long as it keeps your makeup in place for the duration of your flight! I always use my MUA Pro-Base matte satin pressed powder as it comes in many shades and is perfect to set your makeup and keep it in place for hours. (I always recommend removing makeup before crew rest to let your skin have some rest).

I then go on to contour my face using the Essence 2in1 highlight and contour stick. I use this product as it fits inside my bag and does not take up much space and it contains two products in one! This will add shape to your face.

Then, I recommend applying a blush that is the colour you naturally flush to again add colour to your face. Many airlines ask you to wear blush and I think that investing in a good quality blush such as a NARS Blush as they are great quality and have amazing pigmentation.

After you have applied your blush, you may want to apply bronzer to areas that the suns rays would normally hit to give you a lovely healthy glow. If you want a high end product, then I would recommend the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer or if you want a cheaper alternative the Essence Mosaic powder is also great to achieve an all year round glow!

Moving on to eyes, I have chosen to use the Makeup Revolution: New-trals vs Neutrals Palette. This palette has a great range of mattes and shimmer colours which are perfect for creating multiple looks and as an added bonus, it is a dupe of the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette. My top tip is to use colours that complement your eye colour and the uniform.

Immediately after I have completed my eyeshadow look I will apply my mascara. I always use the Essence Volume Stylist 18h Curl and Hold Mascara to give my lashes lasting volume and incredible curl.

For my eyebrows, I like to use either the Benefit Gimmie Brow Volumising Brow Gel or the Essence Make Me Brow, Brow Gel. Both of these products are great and create such thick brows that look so real with extra hairs to fill them out.

To really give my eyes the 'wide awake' look, I use a creamy khol eyeliner in Luminous Beige from Miss Sporty and this is a life saver for those tired eyes on those 'red-eye' flights! Apply this to your waterline to open your eyes more and you could also use this as a cream eyeshadow stick.

And finally to complete the look, we use the iconic Virgin red on our lips. I love to use a matte lipstick however one thing to remember is that you want it to not dry out as your lips will be so in-hydrated! I love to use Too Faced Melted Matte in Lady Balls (a true red) or NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels.

A big thank you to Virgin Australia for helping me create this look and I hope to do more airline 'look' inspired posts.

Teriffic TUI Uniforms

-- A massive thanks to Alison Elkes at TUI for helping me write this post with the information she provided. -- TUI Airways [Thomson Airways]is the largest charter airline in the world. Carrying 11.2 million travellers in 2017 to their holidays, TUI offers a wide route network and the ability to travel abroad for its cabin crew. Overview As TUI is a package deal company, when a customer books a holiday their hotel, flights, transfer and travel agents will be TUI – therefore it is important for the company to have a consistent brand experience and so all customer facing roles wear the same/similar uniforms that show the brand as one big family. Customer facing colleagues are the face of the airline and so it is important that they follow the uniform standards guide to ensure their uniform is up-to-standard. Jet2.com Cabin Crew Training

Hello Everyone, I would like to start this blog by saying a huge thank you to Jet2.com for letting me visit the SIM centre to experience cabin crew training! #Jet2.com (Scroll down for videos!) -- I drove up to Leeds Bradford with my dad to the Jet2.com training centre at 9:00 AM on the 9th of September to arrive at the centre for 12:00 for the training. In total, the training session was 2h30 minutes long. James and Louise took me around the centre and I got to: do the safety demonstration, open the Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 757-200 door, slide down the B737 and B757 evacuation slides, serve coffee and tea in the customer service mock-up cabin, learn about pilot incapacitation, fight a fire in both and over head locker and on a seat, wear a smoke hood and learnt how to correctly fit one, use a BCF (a pressurised water one as BCF's are highly toxic!), learnt how to operate and use an aircraft wheelchair, saw a flight simulator, did a fire in the cabin exercise, lear

South African Airways Uniform

Firstly, a massive thanks to South African Airways for flying uniform items from their JNB base to London Heathrow. #flysaa The items were sent out of JNB in the evening and landed in the UK the next morning, then I went to Heathrow terminal 2 to collect them that weekend. -- What is the uniform like then? The uniform is royal/bright blue; the female crew can either wear: trousers, a skirt or a dress. The dress has patterns on the pockets which add to the elegance of the dress. With this they wear a white shirt (if they aren't wearing the dress) and a jacket which is also royal/bright blue. The jacket has three buttons which should be fastened when worn. To finish of the look, female crew wear a scarf that features all the colours that are on the Republic of South Africa flag, which are: blue, red, green, yellow, black and white. Overall, in my opinion, the uniform is lovely and shows the spirit of South Africa which looks amazing with the aircraft livery and styl
